We made sure this isn't about us
Futuremedian was founded in 2024 to reduce healthcare education disparities through quality academic support. Academic studies indicate a major gap in education. In medical education, Arianpoor et al. discovered in a meta-analysis of 32 studies that 35% to 45% of aspiring healthcare professionals facing household economic and educational disadvantage have lower odds of admissions into medical school programs than wealthier peers.
Futuremedian is a youth-led global initiative that challenges these sociodemographic barriers in healthcare education through a multimodal learning structure, from study guides and questions to animated visuals with end-of-video reviews and captions, our interface isn’t restricted to a learner’s preferred style. Studies show that multimodal teaching (e.g. a teacher utilizing visual aids alongside verbal explanations) benefits learners because it reduces cognitive load. In a 2019 study by Husmann and O’Loughlin, they found that when a learner was given a strategy based on their preferred learning style, there wasn’t any correlation with grade improvements.
Here at Futuremedian, we optimize systems that maximize retention and comprehension while minimizing cognitive load.
Futuremedian targets aspiring healthcare professionals, a broad category that describes high school students, undergraduates, post-baccalaureate students, graduates, gap-year students, and career changers invested in a healthcare career.
